To be eligible for a business membership (Builder and Changemaker Levels), you need to answer “YES” to the following questions:

  • Is your business privately held, a cooperative, worker or community owned?
  • Is your business at least 50% locally owned?
  • Is decision-making authority vested in the local owners and not subject to conditions dictated remotely?
  • Does your business operate in Washington, D.C.?

Membership Levels



At this level you have a unique opportunity to develop relationships with like-minded business owners, possible partners, and potential clients. Your business gains direct access to our online community of more than 20,000 by publicizing promotions, products, and other news. Builders are also able to attend intimate, members-only roundtable discussions that offer access to key policymakers.

Do you wish to support our mission but represent a business or organization that is not eligible for membership? If yes, then consider becoming a Presenting Sponsor. Benefits include 1) a 20% discount to all paid events/participation fees, 2) featured sponsorship of The Local Buzz, our newsletter 3) an opportunity to present remarks at all Think Local First programs and events, 4) a private meeting with the Think Local First DC Board of Directors.
